Shariah Compliance Statement

Last updated: June 12, 2026

Our Commitment

Langford is committed to offering investment opportunities that are accessible to investors seeking compliance with Islamic finance principles (Shariah). Selected assets on the Platform are structured to align with these principles.

Asset-Backed Structure

Tokenized offerings represent fractional beneficial interests in tangible, income-generating real assets (real estate, commodities, infrastructure) — consistent with the Islamic finance principle that investment must be tied to real economic activity, not pure monetary speculation.

Prohibition of Riba (Interest)

Shariah-designated assets generate returns from rental income, profit-sharing (Mudarabah/Musharakah structures), or asset appreciation — not from interest-bearing loans. Expected yields on such assets represent projected profit distributions, not guaranteed interest.

Prohibition of Haram Activities

Assets designated as Shariah-compliant are screened to exclude involvement in alcohol, gambling, conventional financial services based on riba, pork products, adult entertainment, and weapons manufacturing.

Gharar (Excessive Uncertainty)

Offering documentation aims to provide full transparency of asset details, valuation, fees, and risks to minimize gharar. Blockchain records provide an immutable audit trail of ownership and transactions.

Screening & Certification

Langford is in the process of establishing an independent Shariah Supervisory Board to review and certify designated offerings. Until certification is issued for a specific asset, investors should not assume compliance and should seek guidance from their own Shariah advisers.

Zakat

Responsibility for calculating and paying Zakat on holdings rests with each investor. Portfolio statements available on the Platform may assist in determining asset values for Zakat purposes.
